Very robust and well built feel to it. 1000 rounds through it with no issues. All sorts of ammo. Various Slugs, various bird shot, various buck shot. DP12 runs through all of it.

    I am now a believer

I am a double barrel nut. I like SxS and O/U's for shooting and pheasant hunting. My first good shotgun was an Ithaca model 37 in 16 gauge and I've had a number of pumps since then, The DP 12 takes a bit of getting used to having 2 shots with each pump but my experience with O/U's made shooting twice before doing anything made the tempo an easy transition. the DP 12 is built like a tank and functions like a charm. The only drawback I have noticed is that the safety can't not be used if only the right barrel is fired. To get to safe position the unfired shell must be ejected and then the safety can be applied. I have shot slugs accurately at 50 yards and it seems to handle 2 3/4" magnum buckshot with no problem. It Is heavy and I plan to add a strap. As far as I am concerned the DP 12 is truly a marvel of designing.

    Great Company with Integrity

Posted by Mike on 12th Mar 2016

I bought the DP-12 a couple months ago. That weekend, I went to the range, and went through 25 rounds with no issue. The following weekend, I had a round blow up in the chamber and left melted hull casing in the barrel. This was due to the ammo, and not the weapon. I called up the company, and they said send it back to them. I sent the gun up over this past weekend, and they made the repairs on the same day of receipt. The customer service is outstanding, and this company truly stands behind their product. The overall experience with this company regarding this issue surpassed my expectations. I expected some haggling or push back, and I received neither.

As far as the gun is concerned, read the other posts as they paint a pretty solid picture of the reliability of the weapon. My post is a reflection of the type of company you will be doing business with.

    WOW !!

I have to be honest, my initial interest in buying the DP-12 was that it was different. I had heard all the rumblings on the blogs, no selector switch to switch magazine tubes, who needs a double barrel shotgun etc. Then I received it and got it on the range and I could now careless what anyone has to say. The DP-12 is super easy to load, and the action on it is smooth and easy. With an AR type safety it is like second nature. The idea of rack once shoot twice rack again took about 1 min to get used to. Granted it does have some weight to it, but once you get it to yoru shoulder you don't even notice the weight. The recoil is tamed so significantly my daughter was firing it right along with the guys. I did have a bad round and it worked perfectly, round failed to fire, pulled the trigger again, second round fired, racked and had 2 more good rounds ready to go. I love my KSG and SRM-1216 but there is just something so nice about the design and the feel of the DP-12 it has become my favorite shotgun. Actually thinking about getting another one so I have 2 hidden in the house...cause you never know when you need some additional firepower.
